Daily Devotional: Proverbs 23
Proverbs 23:4-5 (NLT) "Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich. Be wise enough to know when to quit. In the blink of an eye wealth disappears, for it will sprout wings and fly away like an eagle."
Explanation: These verses caution against an unhealthy pursuit of wealth. While hard work is valuable, chasing riches at the expense of wisdom, health, or relationships is unwise. Wealth is temporary and can vanish quickly, so it should never be the ultimate goal in life.
Reflection: Are you prioritizing wealth over your well-being or spiritual life? What might you be sacrificing in pursuit of material gain?
Prayer: Lord, help me to be wise in my work and priorities. Let me not chase wealth at the cost of my faith, family, or health. Keep me focused on what truly matters.
Challenge: Identify one area where you might be over-prioritizing money or material things, and commit to rebalancing it with wisdom and faith.
