Daily Devotional for Proverbs 16 (NLT)

Verse:
"We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer." — Proverbs 16:1

Explanation:

Proverbs 16 highlights the importance of trusting in God's guidance over our own plans. Verse 1 reminds us that while we may have our own ideas and strategies, it is God who ultimately directs our path and gives the best answers. This chapter emphasizes the need to rely on God’s wisdom rather than our own understanding, as His plans lead to righteousness and success.

Throughout Proverbs 16, we see the contrast between human effort and divine guidance. It teaches that true success comes from committing our plans to the Lord, allowing Him to shape our steps.

Reflection:

How often do we make our own plans without seeking God’s direction? It’s natural to rely on our own strategies, but this verse encourages us to submit our plans to the Lord. We may have good ideas, but God knows the best path for us. Trusting in His wisdom ensures that our plans are aligned with His will, leading to peace and success.

Today, reflect on the plans you are making. Have you invited God into those decisions? Take a moment to pause and pray, asking for His guidance and trusting that He will give you the right answers.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your wisdom and guidance. Help me to remember that while I can make my own plans, You provide the right path. Teach me to trust in Your direction and surrender my desires to Your will. Lead me today and always in Your perfect plan. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Daily Challenge:

Today, take one area of your life where you’ve been planning on your own—whether it’s work, family, or personal goals—and intentionally surrender it to God. Ask Him for guidance and trust that He will lead you in the right direction. When you feel uncertain, turn to Him for answers, knowing that His wisdom is greater than our own.

This devotional reminds us to submit our plans to God, trusting that His direction leads to true success and peace.
